ROUTE ONE |
CLIMATEBeing in the south, the climate is quite mild. In general, the weather is cooler than Ellsport, the nearest town, and the rain lasts for longer but is usually fairly gentle with the odd downpour. Shielded by the woods of Route Two on one side and Ellsport and the Silva Rainforest on the other, wind can only pass through from the south-east or north-west, so it's not often that Route One has a windy day. DESCRIPTION The frequent rains and sunny spells make Route One a pleasant green route. Green plants thrive all year round. Grasses of all varieties grow tall and wild, grazing wild Pokémon unable to have much of an impact on the faster-growing species. Shrubs and bushes are common, all growing in any shape. They offer shelter to a lot of Pokémon, and some may even grow berries. Trees are dotted about as well, providing fruit and still more shelter. Bird Pokémon can be found nesting in their branches in spring. Flowers add splashes of colour here and there to the rolling grassland, changing from season to season. Their bright colours are a minority among the green. HISTORY Route One is an old route, as can be told by its well-worn path. It's been around almost as long as Ellsport. At the time Ellsport was founded, Sulchester and Marleigh were already old towns. The river Sulis swept up to Marleigh, which wasn't very wealthy and was never of much use besides a rest stop where a little trading could be done on the side. Sulchester was the main destination, but the river curved so far north before going back south again it took far longer than by foot. Unfortunately, the Silva rainforest was in the way, meaning travelers either had to go far out of their way anyway to go around the rainforest, or risk going through. Trekking through the forest was impossible with goods, the carts being too large and heavy for the dense forest. Pokémon were large and strong, and there were all sorts of nasty bugs and reptiles whose bites could kill. |
