GENERAL RULES

I. PLAY NICE Racism, homophobia, sexism, etc are all an easy path to a ban. Everyone should be treated equally and fairly here. No being mean to people for being inexperienced, either. We all started somewhere and some people don't know about how the site works. Help anyone who needs it. If you do have a real problem with someone, PM a staff member and we'll sort it out privately. II. NO PLAGIARISM Everything our members post here belongs to them unless stated otherwise. Pokémon and the His Dark Materials series do not belong to anyone on this site. Any fan-made Pokémon, art or writing posted here should not be copied for use anywhere else unless you have permission from its creator. Our members should also never copy work from another site or member and wrongfully claim to have produced it themselves. Plagiarism will be taken very seriously. III. PG-13 While we allow swearing and violence, please keep in mind that some members may be young and/or sensitive. It's only fair we respect them. Don't write anything too graphic, and anything sexual should be implied rather than written explicitly. Staff can remove anything inappropriate. IV. DON'T TAKE CHARACTER ACTIONS PERSONALLY The actions of a character don't reflect the actions of the member who plays them. If a character doesn't like your character, that doesn't mean the member doesn't like you. Characters can have very different views and beliefs to the person playing them. V. STAFF HAVE THE FINAL SAY It's the job of staff members to consider everyone fairly and deal with any issues. Listen to what they have to say and it'll make everyone's lives easier. Of course, if you feel staff are being unfair, they aren't doing their job properly and you should let another member of staff know (preferably Birdybot or another admin via PM).

ROLEPLAYING RULES

I. ANYONE IS WELCOME We allow anyone of any writing standard to roleplay here. Members should aim for well-written posts, but we understand if that's not possible. Everyone should try and improve their writing, and practice makes perfect! II. AIM FOR AT LEAST 90 WORDS There is no official word limit and no-one will tell you off for using too few words, but longer posts are nice to see. There's a word counter in the bottom right hand corner of the posting area so you can see how you're doing. III. NO GODMODDING OR POWERPLAYING Taking control of another person's character or making your own character unrealistically strong or invincible is not allowed. When your character does something that will effect another character, for example punching them or asking a question, the other member gets to decide how their character will react, including whether or not the punch hits. IV. NO TEXTSPEAK This is fine out of character or when describing something the character is writing, but please don't use textspeak in writing. I'm talking about things like 'brb', 'u', 'r' and so on. V. GRAMMAR AND SPELLING A few typos and mistakes are fine. Your post does have to make sense, though, and too many mistakes can make it harder and less pleasant to read. If you struggle with grammar and spelling, most browsers have an in-built spell check, or you could copy things into Word and check it there. Reading posts though doesn't hurt either.
