The run away [STARTER]

As the boat docked the port in Ellsport many people were getting off the boat to start new life's in the city, go on with work, or pay a visit. One of the many starting a new life was a shady looking boy about fifthteen years old. Next to him was a oddly colored Gardevoir. Her colors were purple, black, white instead of the regular green, red, and white. They made there way off the boat and saw many boats around and guessed that this place was famous for the port. They felt a bit cold as it was autumn. They both notice the leafs falling off the trees as they made their way to the pokemon lab. Rakutsu and Titina could have gone to any region, but Raku knew team rocket would find him at any of those regions. This was the only choice as this region didn't get out to the other very well so team rocket will have little chance of thinking, he came here of all places. The reason he's running away from them at all was that, he was a team rocket member on the run and he has some important information on him that they need. He was sure they wouldn't find him here in this far of region.
Pulling himself out of his thoughts, he looked at the huge building know as the Pine Laboratories. This lab is were trainers get their trainer's cards and starter pokemon. This was a great place to start as he was pretending to be a new trainer taking on the league. Yes he did have other pokemon, but he release them into the wild as they were force to work with team rocket. He opened the door to the lab and walked in. As he made a few steps in, he can feel the rays of the sun through the large windows. To say the least it felt good.
He looked around in search of the professor as he didn't see him around.
"Professor are you here, I'm here for a starter preferably a charmander(egg move Dragon pulse) I just need that and my trainer card and I'll be good to go."

Titina nodded in agreement as she didn't want to be around for very long.

Professor Pine was at his desk, organising data from a recent experiment on his computer. This stage he found fairly dull monotonous work, so it was a relief when his phone buzzed to let him know the laboratory had a visitor. From a nearby room, he heard Harriet, one of his lab assistants, call, "Are you OK to get that or do you want me to, Professor?" He was already on his way out his office by that point, so called back, "No, don't worry about it. I could use a bit of a break."

Moments later his card pass allowed him entry into the main reception area through one of the card-locked doors. He saw a young boy there, mid-teens, and smiled a warm, welcoming smile. His Noctowl-dæmon, Telepa, viewed the boy's dæmon, which took the form of a Gardevoir, with a look half curious and half flatly disinterested. She was known for being hard to impress, a bored expression near constant, not that it was easy to be too expressive with a beak. She wondered whether or not the boy's dæmon had settled on her form yet.

"Hello, I'm Professor Pine! My dæmon here is called Telepa," he indicated her where she perched on his shoulder. She nodded and said "Hey, new trainer," in a bored tone. Pine ignored her dull feelings and carried on. "I'm not sure if we have any Charmanders, we can't keep every Pokémon under the sun here for new trainers so we can't take requests so specific. Here," he handed Raku a list with the names and pictures of fifteen Pokémon, "These are what we have from the latest shipment. You can choose up to three of them, and I'll show you them so you can choose one to be your starter who suits your personality the best. As well as that, you can pick up to three types and I'll show you whatever we have of that type, one Pokémon per type, then you can again choose one based on how well it suits you. I'm guessing you'll want to see a Fire type then, but would you like to see what we have from two other types? And would you like to see anything from the list I just gave you?" he asked, hoping it was all clear.

Raku silently cursed to himself as he looked over the list. Was this seriously the best he had? As he and Tatinia looked over the list they had expressions that said"are you serious right now". Most of the pokemon on this list were very weak starting choices compared to other pokemon. How only two of them stood out Starly and Bouffalant. Raku loved the flying types so he was tempted to go with that, but Bouffalant was a powerful and rare normal type so he decided to go with that. He handed the paper back to the professor making his choice."Bouffalant." Titinia looke at the professor with a scowl on her face and looked at Raku. Raku saw this and nodded then turned to the professor."She doesn't like you or Telepa." he says while pointin a finger to Titinia.

Professor Pine nodded. "Bouffalant and a Fire type, all right, I'll go get those." Before he could leave, Raku said something to him. He blinked in surprise for a moment. Telepa puffed up her feathers and let out an agitated coo. "Well, that's-" she began to say, but the professor shushed her before she could get far. He thought it was rude to say bluntly that you disliked a person after speaking only a few words to them, but it was his job to deal with new trainers however tricky they were. "Um, OK..." he said awkwardly, then turned to go and fetch the requested Pokéballs.

Professor Pine slipped out another door, again activated by the pass around his neck. When he returned it was with two Pokéballs. In a bright flash of red light he released the two Pokémon within for Raku to look at. The Bouffalant sniffed the air, then walked slowly towards Raku. It studied him and Titinia slowly, as though mulling over its opinion of them. Knowing Titinia would be able to translate from Pokéspeak to English, it spoke. "Hello. Do you plan on taking the league challenge?"

The Fire type was a Litleo. It bounded over with much more energy, grinning. Rather than saying anything, it instead tried to play with Raku's shoes, having no inkling that might be annoying.

"Are either of these two what you're looking for? Or would you rather see something else. An Electric type, perhaps? Or a Water type? We have any type you want," Pine offered.

Raku handed the paper back to the professor happy with his choice as he looked down at the fire puppy. "I'm fine with these just the normal type professor." he picked up the Litleo and carried him in his hands. "Sorry little buddy maybe next time."He didn't want to debate any longer about this and wanted to leave as he was in a hurry. Raku wanted to get his pokemon and trainer card and leave short and simple. He turned to the normal type as it ask him about the league."Yes we do plan on taking on the pokemon league." Before he can say anything else Titina looked at both pokemon and leaned in to say something in raku's ear. Raku nodded at what she said and turned to the normal type."She likes you to be around more,"says pointing a finger to Titina. He then turned to the professor. "She also wants you to hurry up."

Professor Pine nodded. "All right then, Bouffalant it is," he said, returning the dejected looking Litleo to its Pokéball and putting it in his pocket. He would return it to where the other starters were let out to roam later, getting the impression that Raku was impatient. Telepa almost complained again when Raku told her human to hurry up. So rude! He wasn't being slow, this was hugely important and could not be rushed. A starter Pokémon had to be picked wisely or the whole journey would crash and fail. The professor hadn't thought he was being too slow, either; in the space of minutes he had introduced himself, explained they didn't have a Charmander, offered Raku two Pokémon and now gave him one. That was hardly bad going. Most trainers took far longer choosing their starter. Some spent as much as an hour interacting with all the starters offered, trying to pick the one with the personality best suited to them.

"I'm doing this all as fast as I can. Choosing your starter isn't like buying something from a shop. Now, I just need to take your photo and grab some details for your trainer license and you're done. I get that you want to get started with your journey right away, but it's only a couple of minutes and I won't be legally allowed to give you a starter until it's done. Here," he handed Raku a sheet of paper. Telepa flew to a nearby desk and grabbed a camera, flying it back to the professor. One the forms were filled out and the photo taken, Pine printed out the card using a special printer and grabbed a small drawstring back full of helpful items. "Right, there's Bouffalant's Pokéball, and here is your starter pack. Good luck!"
