APPEARANCE
Nadia is fairly average-looking; standing at 5'6", she is a little less than a foot and a half taller than the large vileplume by her side and far skinnier. No matter what she eats, she never gains very much weight. Her hair is dark brown and reaches her shoulders, and her face seems to be longer than it is due to its pinched oval shape.
In terms of attire, she tends to dress plainly so as not to draw too much attention to herself, but now that she is going to become a coordinator, she has started wearing brighter colors like purple and red. Her favorite color is lavender. She tends to wear pants rather than a skirt, and practical shoes for exploring (and for running away, if the need presents itself).
PERSONALITY
Nadia is curious about pretty much everything, and she desires to learn as much about the capabilities of pokemon as possible. However, this desire is balanced by an almost painful shyness and desire to protect herself. Even though she has never had any particularly damaging experiences, she has been plagued by nightmares since she was a child, and continues to be frightened of many different kinds of pokemon and things in the world. She is always looking to challenge her fears, however, and has decided to become a coordinator due to the desire to overcome her former (and current) prejudices against certain pokemon. She tries to analyze her fears stoically, realizing that she can defeat her fears by the simple act of pretending they are not there. She may be panicking internally, but she always tries to be strong to the public eye.
Due to her shyness, she does not have much experience with socializing, and tends to stick to herself whenever possible. Now that she's going on a journey, however, she and Rafe have made a deal that they will try to approach as many people as possible to learn more about proper socializing with people who aren't her parents. Her natural inclination is to be kind to others, but she has a sarcastic streak that tends to emerge when she's challenged to do anything. Her moods change quickly, but she tries to present herself as balanced and serene. She would hate for people to know if anything is bothering her, so she tries to hide all of her concerns until she is alone with Rafe and then shares what's on her mind with him.
She also has a bit of a quirk that involves her falling in love with random people. She never tells these people about her affections, which are completely based on physical features. She is attracted to strong-looking people in general. When she "falls in love," she typically imagines an entire romantic scenario, complete with the other person's dialogue, in one of her stories.
HISTORY
Nadia was born to a single mother who seemed stressed all the time; her young daughter fed on this stress, along with the little daemon who tagged along with her usually in the form of a young male cleffa. While her mother went to work, she was usually at home alone, and she made up stories in her head to entertain herself, often regaling her daemon with a variety of imaginative tales. When her mother was home, she would always praise Nadia's imagination, saying that it was her greatest strength and it would take her places in life.
However, with every blessing comes a curse, and Nadia's imagination was no exception. Starting at a young age, she was plagued by nightmares, and often preferred to stay up through the night rather than try to sleep. Around this time, Rafe began experimenting with forms that could potentially help her sleep; now that he is a vileplume, he can spraw a powder that can make her a bit drowsy and help her fall asleep. Her dreams are such a problem because she has a very hard time distinguishing between reality and dreams, and often fears things that she sees in her dreams if she then sees them in real life.
Nadia's mother failed to notice this problem for years due both to the young girl's ability to hide her true feelings and how busy her mother was, but even when she found out, she had no ready-made solutions. She started to believe that she had failed her child, but rather than trying to solve the problem, she simply encouraged Nadia to get out of the house and start training pokemon. Nadia resisted for years, digging in her heels and insisting that Rafe was all she ever wanted, but at some level she could not deny that perhaps her mother was right. At nineteen she decided to set out on her journey when her mother announced that she was getting remarried, and Nadia vowed to become a strong and independent person without the need for anyone... except Rafe.image (optional)rafe

Views on Form(s): Nadia feels so-so about her daemon's form; she was hoping for something that could defend her, but wasn't banking on having a poison type following her around everywhere. Although she is not exactly a fan of poison types, she recognizes that a vileplume could prove to be a good tool of intimidation if she ever needed to persuade someone of something or escape somewhere. She is definitely glad that he is no longer a cleffa, which he tended to transform into for many years, because at least a vileplume is slightly more intimidating than a tiny pink star.
Rafe, on the other hand, is thrilled with his form - he always appreciated a sturdy pair of legs and even though his feet are stubby, they are perfectly able to carry him to whatever destinations he has in mind. He also appreciates the flower on top of his head as both a symbol of beauty and strength.
APPEARANCE
Rafe is a bit large for a vileplume, standing a little taller than four feet. He weighs around the usual amount for a vileplume. On his petals, he has some dots larger than others, but otherwise he seems to be a typical vileplume.
PERSONALITY
Rafe is protective over Nadia, yet at the same time he encourages her to go out of her comfort zone as much as he can. He tends to get overly excited about things, even to the point where his voice sounds quite chirpy. He has a lot of energy and wants to go everywhere all at once!
