GENERAL
Name: Cadence Amarein
Alias: Caddie
Age: Sixteen
Birthday: April 11th
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Species: Human
Occupation: Trainer | Breeder | Researcher
APPEARANCE
With hair of dip-dyed auburn; as colourful as the sight as the setting sun, it could almost be said that it's as if Caddie wants to stand out from the crowd (not like she actually does, she just likes her hair looking awesome). It reaches down to her shoulders and curls inwards - towards her neck - at the bottom. She's not the tallest gal, though by no means the shortest either, standing as she is at a height of 5'6". Due to her previous occupation she's pretty tanned, her complexion leaning towards medium more than fair. Her eyes are a deep sea green that can look more green or closer to blue depending upon the light. She's lean in build with a rounded, albeit slightly angular shaped face.
Caddie's not one for wearing dresses or clothes that she deems uncomfortable. She will often don shirts and trousers and the occasional jumper, depending on the weather. She's a fan of jackets, though, and it's a common occurance to see her walking about wearing one, regardless of the temperature. This is due to the fact that she often feels the cold a bit more than the average person, though she's never really complained about it aloud, simply clinging to the warmth of Zazo in the past and, in recent years (to make up for the fact that Zazo can no longer provide suitable amounts of warmth), donning layers of clothes that will keep her comfortably warm throughout the chilly times.
PERSONALITY
Outwardly social, inwardly shy, it may come as a surprise to others just how introverted Caddie actually is. Having practiced a socialite persona for years, she has become quite the adept actress in the field of masking her awkwardness and discomfort. Mostly this mask has been influenced and reinforced by her mother. Being that Amandine used to be an actress, her work seemed to rub off on her daughter making her into who she is now. Still, sometimes that awkwardness and shyness comes through, mostly in the subtle changes in Caddie's body language or the way in which her dæmon holds himself or acts. It's just a matter of having a quick eye for detail or a perceptive nature in order to see these things.
It's easy to tell when she's relaxed and comfortable around another due to the fact that she'll joke, laugh and generally talk more than when she first introduced herself to the other. In fact, her little quips may be emphasized by actions of a more mischievous nature. Way back when she was nine she went through something of a pranking phase that never really seemed to truly fade away. She can be seen as immature or childish during times when her immense boredom brings this mischief to the fore, playing a prank that some may find annoying whilst she just finds funny. Those that know her slightly better may be forewarned about her troublemaking thoughts in advance by the manner in which she taps her fingers, wiggles her leg or paces. She finds it hard to stay still when a pranking inspiration hits and will find it harder still to not go through with it once the right idea fits into place.
She has a fear, bordering on phobia, of Sudowoodo and Mr.Mimes, mostly due to the way in which they move. This same irrational fear is also directed at mimes and it's likely that she'll freeze in place at the sight of them silently simulating actions and emotions.
HISTORY
Borne in the Kalos region to the young actress Amandine and her fiance Domié, Caddie's childhood was one filled with happiness, love and comfort. Money was never a problem for the Amarein household and little Cadence could have whatever she asked for, if she actually decided to ask for it. She was rather a shy girl and felt as if she was pressing her parents when she dared to request something, thus the books, toys and other such items she had around her bedroom were often things her parents had went out and bought themselves for her. She was never spoilt too heavily, what with a pleasant balance between Amandine's decision to ensure her daughter was happy through bought items and Domié's reassurance that the child didn't need too much of a good thing in order to be happy.
Still, there was a sense of frustration that clung to the Amarein household, and that was in the lack of Amandine's presence. Due to her career, she couldn't always be there for Cadence and it left something of a space in Caddie's days of freedom after school hours and over the weekend. She wanted to spend more time with her mother and wished for the family as a whole to have days where they could go out and see the sights or simply spend family time together. Domié tried to make up the time that Amandine couldn't, often taking his daughter out on trips or taking up some form of entertainment alongside her to keep her mind off of the fact that her mother wasn't always there.
When Cadence was eight, Domié and Amandine both decided on moving from Kalos. Kalos was too loud, too busy a place and Amandine had had enough of her life as a busy actress - all she wanted to do now was settle down and begin a new career as a breeder: something she had always dreamed of pursuing ever since she was a little girl. Domié supported her in her decision and, as one, they packed their bags and moved to Enera.
They settled down on the edges of Ellsport and spent time setting up an area suitable for the dream occupation they had in mind; they created a breeding ranch.
As time ticked on by Cadence began to change. Urged on by her dæmon, Cadence commenced acts of mischief; mostly pranks that would leave her parents soaked or caked in a layer of flour, or tricks that frightened their parent's Pokémon. Really, this was them acting up, unused to this new life that they had to adjust to.
Domié's dæmon was the first to realize this and recited the fact to her human. Pondering possible ideas that would help to curb off this mischief, he talked to Amandine about it and together they agreed that it might be best if Cadence was to help them around the ranch. Taking her and Zazolai aside, they told them both of the idea and, she took to it at once.
She learned a lot about how Pokémon worked throughout the years that followed. She learnt of each types specific diets, of their diversity of temperaments and how incredible they were.
But, despite this, there was something that was lacking and, throughout those years of hard work, she did not know what to think of it. What could possibly be missing from this life she now led?
Then, it hit her, she wanted to go out and explore the wilderness, learn more about Pokémon, find out more about them. She wished to become a researcher, learn of the habitats that the Pokémon inhabited and the different personalities each genus could possibly exhibit. She wished to delve into everything that made up the mysterious and wonderful creatures, as well as become something that she had wondered over trying for a long time - how did it feel to be a trainer?zazolai
GENERAL
Name: Zazolai
Alias: Zazo
Gender: Male
Form (if settled): Sableye
Age Settled: Thirteen
Views on Form: Cadence had never really thought about what her dæmon would settle into until it happened. And as they had studied the form, wondered about it and discussed it for a while, Cadence realized that she was alright with it. She liked how Zazo could phase through walls, which was an exceptional trait to have when it came to pulling off pranks. She wasn't too happy, however, with the fact that Zazo now felt constantly cool to the touch. Being that he had originally taken the form of many a fluffy, warm kind of Pokémon of which Cadence had cuddled up to through habit and he was now forever settled in the form of a ghost... Well, that tiny aspect of it kind of sucked.
Zazolai doesn't really care much about the form he settled in. Even in the present he still has moments where he wishes for the constant warmth that came with his warm-blooded forms, but at least he got a cool little skill out of it and is small enough to be able to ride around on Caddie's shoulders (as well as being small enough to be cuddled by her).
APPEARANCE
Zazolai is slightly smaller than an actual Sableye, barely covering a foot in height. He also sports little bits of fluff on the top of his head, on his chest above his red gem and along his back.
PERSONALITY
Zazolai has taken on the anxiety that Cadence tries to keep hidden away and has become something of a non-talker around anyone except for his human. He mostly stays stuck to her like glue, either leaping onto her shoulders to hide his face or cling to her leg during conversations. If he's in the company of those that make Cadence feel comfortable however, there is a possibility that he will open up and voice aloud a few short thoughts from the complexity of his mind.
In actuality, behind that shyness is a sly and mischievous soul. He was the one that prompted Cadence into beginning her pranking bouts, after all.
