THE ADOPTION CENTRE

HOW IT WORKS When Pokémon cannot be with their trainers any more for whatever reason, or if a Pokémon is found in a bad way and cannot be released back into the wild, they will be homed here. Anyone may come here to adopt one of these Pokémon, but they may only adopt one Pokémon each month. There is a small fee to help fund the Adoption Centre, and person must be deemed capable of taking good care of the Pokémon, usually tested by having them meet the Pokémon they wish to adopt to see if they have the potential to get along. They don't need to get along immediately, as many of the Pokémon here have issues due to harsh treatment. Trainers may not adopt Pokémon at a higher level to their second strongest Pokémon, as otherwise they may find it hard to control them if they get violent. Some have special needs and requirements that must be met before adoption, too. Any randomised Pokémon put here by a staff member cannot be adopted by any of that staff member's characters. POKÉMON UP FOR ADOPTION Name: Clara (re-nameable) Species: Espurr Gender: Female Level: 17 Ability: Infiltrator - The protections and stat boosts caused by the moves Substitute, Reflect, Light Screen and Safeguard by the opponent are ignored. Attacks: Scratch, Leer, Covet, Confusion, Light Screen, Psybeam Personality: Clara doesn't say much. She just... stares. Constantly. At any living thing. No blinking involved. This is quite disturbing, to say the least. When she does speak, it usually seems pretty out of context and out of the blue. Her words do seem intelligent, but can be a bit of a riddle to decipher. On rare occasions she will be insightful and helpful. OT: Monty Cost of Adoption: £50 Notes: Abandoned because she and her old trainer never understood one another. The trainer felt uneasy and awkward trying to talk to her, and she was deeply unhappy with him. Added by Birdybot. Name: Springer (re-nameable, but won't be happy about it) Species: Lillipup Gender: Male Level: 7 Ability: Pickup - Has a 10% chance of finding and holding an item after battle. Will not work if this Pokémon is already holding an item. Allows the user to pick up the item of its opponent or ally if they used up the item in battle. Attacks: Leer, Tackle, Odor Sleuth Personality: Springer is very sweet and one of the loveliest Pokémon you could imagine. He is incredibly sensitive and gentle. He is empathetic, caring deeply for others and putting himself aside to tend to the needs of others first. Traumatised after being trapped under a rockfall on Mount Fervens, he is now incredibly nervous and jumpy. Claustrophobic in the extreme, he will also shy away from precarious rocks and startle at any sudden loud noises. OT: None Cost of Adoption: £40 Notes: Added by Birdybot. Found under fallen rubble on Mount Fervens, he was brought to the Pokémon Centre in Barfield by a concerned trainer. He made a full recovery, although half his left ear was removed as it was in tatters. Traumatised, young and weak, he wouldn't have survived long in the wild so was sent to the Adoption Centre, where he was given the name Springer. Name: (none) Species: Mr. Mime Gender: Male Level: 21 Ability: Filter - Damage by super-effective moves is reduced by 25%. Attacks: Misty Terrain, Power Swap, Guard Swap, Barrier, Confusion, Copycat, Meditate, Double Slap, Mimic, Psywave, Encore Personality: Should you have a fear of clowns, (name) would be your worst nightmare. There's just something about the way he watches people and giggles quietly to himself that is deeply unsettling. OT: Marcus Cost of Adoption: £55 Notes: Abandoned by his original trainer soon after capture for being so creepy. Added by Birdybot. Name: Lovisia (she will refuse any changes) Species: Tyrunt Gender: Female Level: 15 Ability: Strong Jaw - Increases the power of biting moves by 50%. Attacks: Tail Whip, Tackle, Roar, Stomp, Bide, Stealth Rock Personality: Much stronger than her level would suggest, Lovisia is one tough cookie. She is capable of taking down opponents bigger and more experienced than her. While she is good at attacking and taking hits, she isn't that fast nor is she obedient. Hot-headed and stubborn, she likes to things her own way and will challenge her trainer. Often she can become quite violent and difficult to handle. OT: Simran Cost of Adoption: £65 Notes: Abandoned because her previous trainer was unable to handle her; she was injured frequently by her and finally it became too much to handle. Must have at least two badges as proof you can handle her before adopting, added by Birdybot. Name: Andy (re-nameable) Species: Ariados Gender: Male Level: 28 Ability: Swarm - When HP is below 1/3rd, Bug’s power increases to 1.5 times. Attacks: Poison Sting, Stringshot, Scary Face, Constrict, Leech Life, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak, Fury Swipes, Sucker Punch Personality: Andy has a peculiar (and mostly unwelcome) habit of making people 'gifts' out of spider silk. He carefully spins it into shapes and offers it to people as a gesture of friendship. This is not much bother, but half the time he deems it a good idea to incorporate the recipient of the gift into his sculpture, encasing a limb or part of one in web to make something. He doesn't have a clue about personal space, but other than that is nice enough. OT: Mandy Cost of Adoption: £55 Notes: Abandoned because he kept almost suffocating his previous trainer's smaller Pokémon and was making his trainer feel uncomfortable.
