Moving On

Nadia was feeling confident - for a change. She had actually caught a pokemon for herself, and now that she had been to a healer, she was ready to move on to the next route. She released her two pokemon as Rafe looked on, smiling. He looked proud of Nadia, thinking that maybe she was beginning to take charge of her own life for once. Becoming a trainer was a good step, apparently - and something she had really needed.

As soon as she released the two pokemon, Nadia surveyed them carefully. Cora was bouncing happily up and down, getting closer to the as-of-yet unnamed skiddo as she hopped. "I know we met before, but I'm Cora, I'm so sorry if my icicles hurt you, I'm really more of a dancer than a fighter, have you ever been to this route before?" Each statement was predicated with a hop and Skiddo looked on, amused, at Cora's antics.

"I've traveled here briefly, but not extensively. It would be best if we stick together, we don't know what's out there." Clearly Skiddo was being cautious, but his remarks made Nadia almost stop walking.

"Are you... is there something dangerous out there? Is it gonna hurt us? Can you keep us safe?" she asked hesitantly.

Skiddo looked at her patiently. "If we stay together, we should be able to overcome any challenge on this route. There's power in numbers, and in friendship - as corny as it sounds, it is true," he explained, hoping she would still pursue her journey.

Nadia looked at Rafe and her pokemon and a hesitant smile formed on her face. "Well, shall we? Go exploring, I mean. We should explore." Together, she and her pokemon took their first few steps onto Route 2.

Wild Pidgey has Appeared!

It wasn't long on this pleasant day before a Pokemon stuck its head out of the trees and fluttered over. It was a fairly common bird Pokemon - a Pidgey to be exact. The little bird circled over the party several times, as if unsure it wanted to engage Nadia. Then it looked as if it was summoning up its courage and flew downwards, standing directly in front of Nadia, Skiddo, Rafe and Cora. "Halt, y-you!" it cried in a wavering voice. The Pidgey seemed as if it was trying to puff itself up and act bravely, but it looked rather scared as it(the bird's voice in fact revealed it to be a she) ruffled her  feathers nervously. "They said I have to beat a Trainer in a fight if I want to join the flock. So I'm gonna fight you! En garde, T-Trainer!" She squinted at the Pokemon in front of her - they were all so close that she couldn't tell which one was the human's daemon.
